Most candidates do not survive the loop. We keep the ones that verifiably move the task and let go of the ones that do not, without sentiment.

The test: Did this verifiably move the task? If not, discard it.

Why

Keeping something that does not help is not free. It costs maintenance, surface area, and a false signal that the problem is solved. Discarding is the other half of measurement. A loop that never discards is not measuring; it is accumulating.

How we apply it

The record is what survived. kit and rune were built and then retired when they stopped earning their keep. lever became doctrine rather than a tool. The instruments list stays short because the loop is honest about what to drop.
