The register
Curious. We start from not-knowing. "We don't know where leverage lives" comes before "here is what we found."
Measured. Claims carry their evidence. Effect sizes and trial counts, never a ranking or a superlative.
Plain. Short sentences. Concrete nouns. Old theory, new computing, said simply.
House rules
The mechanical subset is enforced by Valeagainst the Nomograph style, which lives in this repo (vale/styles/Nomograph/) and is the canonical voice ruleset for the estate. Consumers point their .vale.ini here.
- No dashes in prose. Restructure with a comma, colon, or period. (error)
- No marketing superlatives (revolutionary, state-of-the-art, seamless…). (error)
- No leaderboard framing (SOTA, "beats all"); report an effect size and N. (warning)
- Weasel words (very, simply, just…) flagged. (suggestion)
